GM, COT❣️ Yuzunoko here.

Have you checked the schedule for the next two editions of Comiket, Japan's biggest doujinshi (self-published comics) market, this winter and next summer?

On October 14, the Comic Market Preparatory Committee updated the information on its official website. Next summer's "Comic Market 110 (C110)" has been set for August 14 and 15, 2027. Winter's "Comic Market 109 (C109)" will run for three days from December 29 to 31, and details on venue layout and cosplay areas have already been announced.

Next summer Comiket C110: August 14 and 15, 2027

C110 will be held for two days on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15, 2027, across all halls of Tokyo Big Sight. The venue will encompass East Halls 1–8, West Halls 1–4, South Halls 1–4, and more. With the renovation work completed, the event is scheduled to return to using all 16 halls.

(All 16 halls? Just hearing that sounds enormous.)

In an announcement made in March, the Preparatory Committee explained that the 2027 fiscal year would see an event held "once again across all 16 halls." It's great to see the full venue coming back, isn't it❣️

Circle applications for C110 are scheduled to open around February 2027. Detailed layout arrangements, such as which halls circles will be assigned to, remain undecided as they will depend on the final number of applications.

Winter Comiket C109 runs December 29–31; venue layout also announced

C109 will take place for three days from Tuesday, December 29 to Thursday, December 31, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight. Due to large-scale renovation work, East Halls 4–6 cannot be used. Circle applications closed in August.

The last time Comiket ran longer than two days was C97, in the winter of 2019. For C97, the Tokyo Olympics were being held and the entire East area could not be used, resulting in a four-day event split across two separate venues in Ariake and Aomi.

The Preparatory Committee cited an increase in circle applications and a decrease in usable halls due to renovations as reasons for this decision. Running for three days is "a temporary measure for this winter only," with plans to return to all 16 halls in the 2027 fiscal year.

The venue layout was announced in the September 26 update.

  • Circles (doujinshi, etc.): East Halls 1–3 and 7, West Halls 1–2, South Halls 1–2
  • Corporate booths: West Halls 3–4, South Halls 3–4
  • Changing rooms: the Conference Tower (the Tokyo Big Sight building with meeting rooms) and TFT Hall (Tokyo Fashion Town, a building next to the venue)
  • Cosplay areas: inside and outside East Hall 8, the rooftop exhibition area, the garden, and more

Operating hours are 10:30 to 16:00 for circles, 10:30 to 17:00 (16:00 on the last day) for corporate booths, 10:30 to 17:30 (17:00 on the last day) for changing rooms, and until 16:30 (16:00 on the last day) for cosplay areas.

Key points for participating in cosplay

The basics for participating in cosplay are the same as at previous Comiket events.

  • When cosplaying, cosplay registration (500 yen per day) is required at the changing room entrance.
  • Arriving at or leaving the venue in costume is not permitted. Please change in the changing rooms.
  • Ask the person you are photographing for permission first. Photography that bothers the people around you is not allowed.

The locations of the cosplay areas and changing rooms are as introduced in the previous section. The cosplay support page currently covers C108, so for C109's detailed hours and fees, check the latest information on the official website.

(I'm already worried about having the stamina for all three days.)

What's coming up before Winter Comiket

The admission pass system has been announced to follow the format used from C102 through C108. Here is what is coming up next.

  • November 6: release of the Comiket Web Catalog
  • Early November: details on general attendee admission (tickets and wristbands)
  • Early December: release of the printed catalog book and corporate booth information

A PDF guide with important notices is prepared for every event and can be downloaded from the official website. Any changes on the day of the event will be compiled there, so attendees should make sure to review it again right beforehand.

(Time just melts away when you look at the web catalog.)
